It’s no secret that very often money becomes an issue for many couples.  The problem is especially urgent for those whose partner is a careless spender. In this situation a credit card might become a problem that may ruin your partnership.
Here are some common examples of how excessive use of credit card deals might become a problem in a relationship.
Situation  1. You have been married for some time. Naturally, you feel that you can trust each other. To make your financial life more convenient you open a joint account. After some time you receive a shocking credit card bill. Your spouse/partner has charged huge amounts of money to your credit card account!  No matter what happens next you are both responsible for the debt.
Situation 2. Your boyfriend/girlfriend is the best person you’ve ever met. So you decide the
time has come to move in together and have your own little family. You sweetheart wants to share everything with you – including your money. Sometime later your partner tells you he/she has to pay off some credit card debts.  How big are they? Well, experts say that it is really easy to hide even significant credit card debts.  So you will have to make the decision how you are going to pay off the balance.
Situation 3. Your sweetheart wants to get a credit card. But his/her credit history leaves much to be desired so you become the co-signer. No big deal.  Sadly enough your romance is over. You have completely forgotten about that little agreement you have signed. But don’t be surprised to receive a letter from the credit card company that you are to pay off your ex’s balance.
Situation  4. You are getting divorced. This is not a pleasant satiation by itself and an unexpected bill from the credit card company is not going to make it any better. Even though you haven’t been living with your ex for quite a while you will be still held liable for the balance on your joint credit card account.
These are some sad stories. If you do not want to have a story like that happen to you do not mix <a http://www.requestcredit.com/Credit-Cards-and-Relationships-1321404-page_86.php>credit cards and relationship</a>. Of course, you need to trust your partner but do not be naive. Do not hesitate to talk about money matters. If you have a joint account discuss your spending on a regular basis. Make your finances as transparent as possible. And…be a smart credit card user yourself!
