Each year we take pictures of the kids in their Easter outfits. It finally occurred to me to combine all these years of Easter fun into a scrapbook. The kids are already dressed up; it’s finally warm enough to take pictures out side again, and the first flowers of the season make for a perfect backdrop.

Coloring and decorating Easter eggs gives you the perfect photo opportunities. Snap some pictures this year to add to your scrapbook. There are many creative ways to do an Easter scrapbook layout page. Give your kids some plain white paper, cut into an egg shape and ask them to decorate these paper eggs as well. Add them to your scrapbook along with a note of which child decorate the egg and their age. You can also add some Easter bunny graphics or stickers.

Capture the Easter egg hunt on the Easter scrapbook layout page as well. Take plenty of pictures of the kids hunting for eggs. Don’t forget to take a picture of their basked full of treasures after as well. A shot of your toddler munching on a chocolate egg is always a favorite. A border of Easter eggs works well for these pages. You could also cut some of the picture into egg shapes. Cut some green paper into grass shapes and nestle your egg-shaped picture into a bed of grass.

If you go to church on Easter Sunday, take advantage of the fact that everyone is already dressed up and take some family portraits. Use the timer on your camera to get everyone in the picture. Take individual photos of the kids as well. We started taking pictures each year in front of a particular tree we planted a few years ago. It’s fun to watch the kids and the tree grow over the years. Use the budding plants around you as a colorful background for your Easter pictures.

If you are creating several scrapbook pages dedicated to Easter each year, you can put them in sequence. Start with a page on getting ready for Easter including the egg coloring of course, then move to one or several pages dedicated to the big day itself and finish up with a page that shows everyone enjoying the chocolaty treats the Easter bunny has brought.
