This is the best deal you can get on the internet for a metal detector. I have been metal detecting for 13 years and have tried a few! You will not find a better one for under $400. I used to have the Radio Shack one that was the same and I loved it. Ever since, other metal detectors have disappointed me. Rating: - good bang for the buck
I bought this during a Friday Sale for the price of a Tracker IV. This is an excellent all purpose metal detector. Where it differs from other detectors in the price range: it is designed to go deep with a slow (slower than the normal 2 feet per second) back and forth sweeping action. This "slow" technique makes pinpointing (zeroing in on target) much easier. Adding the 4" coil brings pinpointing down to a 2" sweep.
